Jumpy Speedometer question
« : July 30, 2014, 04:07:51 AM »

My 1992 KZ1000P has another issue.  My speedometer, more oftern than not, bounces.  Sometimes it bounces around 3-5 mph, at speeds between 20 and 75, other times 5-10 mph at the same speeds, while other times, its spot on.  I made sure the cables were screwed in, but they are different than the car models I have seen.  They just screw in with the needle pin thing, no having to hook it to anything.  The cable looked ok, not frayed or dry rotted, but the previous owner thinks it might be the original. Should I just replace it?
Thanks

I would try the cable first as cables are relatively cheap compared to speedometers...... If the cable isn't turning smoothly, it will make the needle jump,
